Desiree, known as Desi, brings an 8-year career in the Marketing and Communications Department prior to joining the Center for Rural and Community Health team, where she serves as the Coordinator for Community Outreach and Special Projects. In this role, Desi runs our Healthy Children’s Initiative and community outreach with a specialization in kids activities and programs. She also assists with the production of the PBS television show Abracadabra, the core of the HCI. She also manages the Abracadabra social media platforms and web design.

Before working at WVSOM Desi was the supervisor for The Resort at Glade Springs’s day camp, Camp Glade for 4 years as well as assisting with coordination with major events throughout the resort. She has extensive experience running and hosting large and small events, as well as having an extensive background in graphic design, illustrations, web design, social media management, event organizing, children’s entertainment and performance.
